McGovern Celebrates Announcement of Historic $480 Million Investment to Strengthen Supply Chains and Lower Prices for American Consumers

WORCESTERToday, Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement celebrating $480 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act awarded to Ascend Elements in Westborough to support domestic battery production and grow American manufacturing:

“History is being made in Westborough today as over $480,000,000 from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act comes to Ascend Elements, headquartered in the Second District of Massachusetts. This announcement is about three things: lowering prices for American consumers, strengthening American supply chains, and tackling the climate crisis by creating clean energy jobs,” said Congressman McGovern. “This investment will bring home good manufacturing jobs and put America on a path towards real energy independence. I’m proud to have voted to deliver this important funding.”
